DESCRIPTION: The John Paul II Center
for Special Learning consists of a classroom wing, gymnasium,
multi-purpose wing and a centralized administration core
forming a protective courtyard for supervised playtime.
Upon entry into the building, you are compelled to gaze
skyward through a shaft of ethereal light emanating from
a cupola perched high above you. The focal point of the
design is a small chapel terminating the main entrance
axis.
Classrooms were designed with the use of intense
color to stimulate and encourage the development of children
with special needs.
